Model-based Estimation of Vertebrae from Uncalibrated Bi-Planar XRays

چکیده
This paper presents a method and preliminary study for estimating the location of vertebrae from uncalibrated bi-planar radiographs. The method uses the axis/angle representation of rotations and exact analytic derivatives for optimising the objective function. Multiple vertebral models are incorporated in a single procedure. Results are shown on both real data in vivo and on simulated data. No ground truth for the real data is available, but sensible results are produced by the method in comparison with a method using numeric derivatives. Simulation results show that the method is robust to Gaussian errors in the landmarks and degrades gracefully as these errors increase.

Uncalibrated View Synthesis Using Planar Segmentation of Images
This paper presents an uncalibrated view synthesis method using piecewise planar regions that are extracted from a given set of image pairs through planar segmentation. Our work concentrates on a view synthesis method that does not need estimation of camera parameters and scene structure. For our goal, we simply assume that images of real world are composed of piecewise planar regions. Then, we...
متن کاملReconstruction of Architectural Scenes from Uncalibrated Photos
We consider the problem of reconstructing architectural scenes from multiple photographs taken from arbitrary viewpoints. The original contribution is the use of a map as a source of geometric constraints to obtain in a fast and simple way a detailed model of a scene. We suppose that images are uncalibrated and have at least one planar structure as a façade for exploiting the planar homography ...

This paper presents design and implementation of Model Based Predictive Controller (MPC) for a novel Bi-Rotor Moving Mass Controlled (MMC) Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV). Due to the strict constrained control inputs in this type of UAV, it is necessary to take into account the constrained controller design and un-constrained control methods are not applicable. MPC controller which is designed ba...

Introduction: Low back pain is the most prevalent orthopedic disorder and the first main cause of poor working functionality in developed as wells as many developing countries. In Absence of noninvasive in vivo measurement approaches, biomechanical models are used to estimate mechanical loads on human joints during physical activities. To estimate joint loads via musculoskelet...
متن کاملPose-Invariant 3D Proximal Femur Estimation through Bi-planar Image Segmentation with Hierarchical Higher-Order Graph-Based Priors
Low-dose CT-like imaging systems offer numerous perspectives in terms of clinical application, in particular for osteoarticular diseases. In this paper, we address the challenging problem of 3D femur modeling and estimation from bi-planar views. Our contributions are threefold. First, we propose a non-uniform hierarchical decomposition of the shape prior of increasing clinical-relevant precisio...
